About My Executor Box
My Executor Box was created by founder and CEO Alan Wardrop, DipPFS, ACIBS, CII(MP&ER) after a successful career of over 40 years in financial services, including working for banks, building societies, insurance companies and his own wealth management business.
Alan was a director of Fitzroy Wealth Management and sold his business to Ascot Lloyd in February 2020 in a multi million pound deal.
During his career Alan set up a number of financial services businesses for legal firms and saw first hand the poor provision in estate planning. Family members of the deceased would hand over supermarket plastic bags, full of old bank books and life insurance policies .They had no idea or knowledge if this was all the financial information in existence.
Despite the modern day move to online financial services the process remains unchanged with family members, executors and legal representatives having to empty homes to try and find documentation.
Even online banking and social media platforms require passwords and / or pins which are often not recorded.
In 2022, the government released figures stating the Dormant Bank and Building Society Act had seized £1.6 billion from dormant bank and building society accounts since 2008. Based on the success of the scheme, the government extended the range of assets which could be seized under The Dormant Assets Scheme legislation to include, pensions, property, shares and insurance funds.
As a result, in 2023, Alan formed Executor Services Limited, trading as My Executor Box, to provide a solution to an age old problem when someone dies or suffers incapacity.
